Planescape: Torment - "What can change the nature of a man?"
Wow. That was... wow.
I just finished the game. And I have to say I haven't been that satisfied with a game since I finished Baldur's Gate 2.
Just... superb in storyline, absolutely superb; epic focus, epic spells, epic storyline - and wisdom a-plenty. I very much respect the team that developed this game. Finally a game where the focus is not to kill the biggest and the baddest, but to learn and to grow, and where power is not the intention but the gain when wisdom and intelligence is used.
I only wish that the graphics were a bit better. And maybe the game a bit longer - oh, how I long for a sequel. And hell, I was level 25 when I finished, I'd better be fucking epic.
Oh, the spells - not just some pretty trick of light, but something epic - a meteor being blown to bits in space and sent to the planes on a beam of light, searing into all it is aimed for - marvelous, marvelous.
And the ending satisfied me thoroughly. Oh wow. I love this game. This is going into my top 5 - top *3*, hell.
