April 1966 - Solitary patrol
Nite Owl is agitated with my actions at the meeting - feel it's best to patrol alone. More effective. Less likely to risk danger due to actions motivated by fresh wounds. Best to be apart - avoid a rocky work relationship. Did not tell him I was planning on a solitary patrol - assume he'll be frustrated. Probably not the best coarse of action. He'll get over it.
Thus far, it has been a successful patrol. Two peddlers, three whores. Dropped a burglar off at the station. Stopped a mugging on 42nd, pulled a child from a burning car. Mother was unconcious, no man in sight. Suspect arson, but have no proof.
Pause briefly next to dumpster to write in journal, across from a restrained hooligan. Shorthand so much more effecient.
