I have them.

So I did follow up with that guy I met on the subway.  I sent him an email yesterday night.  He responded today.  And for the most part that was pleasant--he uses "u=you" and "ur=your shorthand," which I find irritating (it's vaguely acceptable in texts, particularly if you don't have a full keyboard, but it just looks awful in emails) ( Read more... )

No, that's definitely weird. I'd feel strange about it also...

It's not like you met over the internet and have never seen each other.

Jude uses u and ur and other silly things in text messages. And it would annoy me if it weren't for the fact that he has an actual vocabulary in person... So I let it slide in texts. Except the time he used "git" for "get"... then I was like "They're both 3 letters... and one of them is an insult in Britain. You can't use them interchangeably and shouldn't either. Just type the E!" Then he said he meant for me to read the message with a southern drawl... and it made more sense :-p

/end semi-related story.

Yeah, that's weird. In an I-like-lots-of-intimacy way.

Sounds like the thing he's interested in is in your pants.

Whoa, that's very weird! Perhaps he sent pics because he forgot when/where he met you, but still the pics seem weird. And this is coming from a super awkward person around the ladies. IMHO, I disapprove of lol, u and ur in emails, ESPECIALLY IF YOU"RE TRYING TO GET INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE. But maybe I'm just old fashioned.
