While walking through Sears I happened upon a massive fuzzy Superman plushie. Naturally I squished him to my bosom, and then dug frantically through the pile to find a Batman. Alas! None was to be found. But Target has some!
http://www.target.com/Batman-Cuddle-Pillow/dp/B0017I6M8S/sr=1-1/qid=1230336734/ref=sr_1_1/178-8457095-6929253?ie=UTF8&rh=k%3Abatman%5Fpillow&page=1Um, unfortunately it looks like the Batman isn't as cool as the Superman. He looks quite mopey, and rather underfed. I'll have to journey to a Target to see him in RL.
But naturally this search kicked off another session of...::drumroll::...
While checking out the KB Toys sale I found a lil Super Friends (current version) Batman, and on the back was a pic of a full set with a Robin figure! Gasp! So I hunted him down when I came home, but sobsob he's only available in a massive set.
http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=7080&e=product&pid=44740 He looks adorable! I want him! I can't possibly justify paying $40 just to get one tiny Robin figure! I don't suppose anyone got this set and doesn't want the Robin?
Yeah, I didn't think so.
Ya know, I gotta say, DCSF is even more unbalanced than most merchandising. They have 5 Batmans, 3 Batman villains, and 1 Superman. Batman and his villains get really cool gadgets. Superman gets Krypto. I can only imagine that the Batmen are taunting Superman endlessly, and someday a toy store employee is going to find the figures out of their boxes and lying on the ground, Superman's tiny plastic fist embedded in Batman's tiny plastic face.
This site has a lot of weird stuff. Like, really weird.
http://www.urban-collector.com/superman-and-batman-mini-nutcracker-12-pc-asst.htmlhttp://www.urban-collector.com/kelly-and-tommy-batman-and-catwoman-doll-giftset.htmlThey also have a crazy awesome Booster Gold figure.
http://www.urban-collector.com/jli-series-2-booster-gold-action-figure-jan090309.htmlI want to hug whoever decided to put him in that pose.
That site also led me to a new and exciting Green Arrow figure. Lefty, look! He's...kinda wearing a skirt! But we should support his choice!
http://www.toymania.com/news/messages/10735.shtmlI also found a Connor, and even a Kyle to go with him.
http://www.amazon.com/Total-Justice-Action-Figure-Kenner/dp/B000BNPWSQ/ref=pd_sbs_t_15http://www.amazon.com/Total-Justice-Lantern-Action-Figure/dp/B000BN4OGC/ref=pd_sim_t_2I love that Connor has a "Multi-Purpose Mega Longbow". I'm mentally alternating between "that's what she said" jokes and upgrading it GNC-style to an Ultra Mega Extreme Longbow Hardcore. Too bad that appears to be a seriously crappy line of toys. Stacy, there's a terrible Robin too! Though I'll concede he's pretty well-endowed for an action figure.
http://www.amazon.com/Total-Justice-Robin-Action-Figure/dp/B000BN8VTS/ref=pd_sbs_t_5 Is there a storyline called "Total Justice" that I don't know about, or is that just the name for a line of crappy toys that we'll buy anyways because they're relatively obscure characters that never get any good merchandising?
I feel like this could have been a lot cooler.
http://www.amazon.com/Green-Lantern-Batman-Action-Figure/dp/B000ZM2FDS/ref=pd_sbs_t_8 I haven't read the comic I'm assuming they're referencing, but I'm pretty sure that whatever it was, this was better.
Speaking of GL's, know who fares even worse than Robin as far as action figures go? Kyle Rayner. So I was happy to find a decent figure
http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=3229, except that it's the costume I hate! Whyyyy can't we have a pretty Kyle in his first costume? Please DC? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
(Artsy action figure photos rock my world.

Ok, I'm not sure if I just wasn't paying enough attention before or what, but somehow I didn't realize until today how awesome the DCNF Flash and Martian Manhunter figures are.
Barry is so happy!
http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=7730 http://www.toywiz.com/dcdfrontierflash.html They gave him the dwarfstar backpack! That's an awesome accessory, especially for a character who, aside from a treadmill or watch, doesn't really do accessories. Oh man, he's so cute, I could look at him forever. Except that, over the years, his brown eyes would slowly drive me mad.
J'onn is, if possible, even more adorable than Barry.
http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=7732 &hearts I wish they'd given him a little TV as an accessory.
When are we going to get a wee NF Robin?
This amused me.
http://www.seanbaby.com/superfriends/robin.htm I should probably be defending my boy, but...the man has a point. Does anyone know what episode has the "Anti-Robin Rod" (assuming such a thing actually exists), and where I can find such a glorious thing?
(the episode, not the rod)
And oh sweet zombie panda, you must watch Greatest Cartoon Ever
http://www.seanbaby.com/superfriends/greenlc.htm I laughed so hard I cried. Seriously. If that's not on the HJHI already, I must tell them of the glory.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dlanod/sets/72157594208628528/ (nope, it's already there) Oh Hal.
I also found the City of Heroes game today. I don't think we all have the money, but my fangirlish darlings, wouldn't that be hella fun to play together online?
