Quarter of a century
Thanks everybody for the bday facebook comments/lj entries/emails! :) I was out last night of course, and today is busy with end-of-the-month hours business and planning for some new classes I picked up that don't have books so I need to actually, ya know, work, and then Thursday is Tereza's bday and tomorrow I really need to do stuff like grocery shop and work out like a fiend because I haven't had time the rest of the week...point being, I haven't gotten back to everyone! Or even most people! But I did read everything, and I thank you.
Bday started out less than stellar actually. Well, Prague gave us awesome weather, so thanks Prague. But on Sunday I found out that my 2 favorite current monthly comics are both losing their writers, and then on Monday morning I found out that my favorite cafe closed (NO warning, they were there last week and they're for rent and totally cleaned out this week! they were successful! wtf??), and then at Mez the heat was either all on or all off and since Tereza's Czech she chose all on and it was about 90 degrees and also the internet wasn't working, and Alicia had terrible luck with her sub class, and I'm having bad luck with my hours...so, little bit of Murphy's law. But like I said good weather, and Wade got home in time for my bday dinner which was good. (He was in the US for Easter. And next week he'll be in Japan, because his other boss had some tickets to Japan and an apartment there that he wasn't going to use so he asked Wade if he wanted to go in his place. While there, Wade's going to meet up with his sister, who's on SAS and will coincidentally be in Japan at the same time as Wade's going there for free. Because Wade is a black hole of good luck.)
Mirka and Lida, the awesome students I have twice a week (actually we just increased to 3 times a week, they're paying half my rent, thanks girls!), got me a birthday flower! Awwwww!
After everyone's night classes were over (well, cept Jim+Jenny, but they have class til 9 and you can only have dinner so late) we went to my favorite restaurant. We pretty much just shared appetizers and drinks cause it was late and we're all broke, and then I got a salad, and then I got cake + Aztec hot chocolate that was actually more like pudding so I had to get another drink to wash it down...I am a pig. My coconut/ginger/carrot/chocolate cake came with a syphilis physalis berry, so that was special.
