Nara can feel...something. She's not sure what, yet, but she knows they need to find Sam's body. It's not as though that's a new idea, but with all of the high tech options that are being thrown around Rodney's lab, she thinks they're overlooking something very simple

She waits for Rodney to answer.
It does take him a few minutes. He's a busy. That is a lie. He answers pretty much immediately. "Yes!"
"Darling. Are there more of the fervidus astrae? Not connected to Elizabeth?"
A beat as he ponders this. "Yes. Or something similar." He's been researching. "Why?"
"Mr Sylar believes they could help fix Sam's body enough that he'll reconnect with it. ...What do you mean 'something similar'?"
"I'm not entirely positive they can bring back the dead..." He hand waves, despite the fact she can't actually see him "Just...experients. Lab work."
"They don't need to, sweetheart, the body isn't dead any more." She can probably imagine the hand waving. "All right...all right, just a second." Fiddle, fiddle, and after a look of intense annoyance, divine intervention. "Can you send what you have to those coordinates?"
He....does not want to know why the body isn't dead anymore, does he. "...yeah. Yes. Give me..." intense head calculations here. "Ten minutes."
"I will wait." A pause, and then in her best mother hen, "And when you have sent them to me, you will delegate your tasks so you can go and rest."
If she were here, he would argue. But it's hardly fun to do that when she's not. "Yes. All right." He will likely have to be poked by Zelenka.
"Good. If Radek tells me you did otherwise, I will be unhappy." ...Nara, learn how to say 'goodbye' instead of just hanging up on people. To Sylar, she says, "They'll be here in ten minutes."

"I'll check before I introduce them to his system, but those machines should be all he needs." He reaches into the minifridge and pulls out a Coke. "Soda?" he asks. This is going to be a long ten minutes. Might as well offer a drink.

"So, what exactly are you?" he eventually asks, almost conversationally.
Reply
"I am the Ora, and one of the last gods of my universe." She's quite matter of fact.
Reply
"One of the last ones?" he asks. "Why? Are they dying?" Which he should probably be less surprised to hear, given that Sam here was dead himself until a few hours ago.
He could probably stand to be less blunt. But he's not good with that- well, unless it gets him something.

Anyway, she shakes her head briefly. "There was a great war, when I was all but newborn, and the destroyer resurfaced some few years ago -- of the thousand that were, there are now five, one near lost."
She breathes out and shrugs, looking back down at Sam and tapping her fingers absently against the side of the can.

He takes a gulp of his Coke, then looks down at Sam as well. "Do you think He'll be the same, when He comes back?"

She touches Sam's cheek. "Everything changes -- even him. But he will still be himself." That doesn't really answer the question, of course, but sometimes they don't.
The phone in her pocket rings. She blinks, and produces it, checking caller ID and swearing under her breath. She holds her finger to her lips and tosses her hair a little, answering the phone with a breathless, "Yes?"
There is complete and utter dead silence for an entire fifteen seconds. It's probably dread. "...Sam there?"
"Oh, hello, John!" Nara chirps brightly. "Yes, yes, of course he is! He's...a little bit busy." She sounds as though she's trying to contain giggles.
Complete and utter horror. "Uh. Yeah. I'll...later. I'll call back later."
"Wonderful! I will tell him you called. Our love to the rest of the family, of course--I'm coming, Rodney, hush--it's so nice to hear from you. Goodbye, John!"
There has not been a faster disconnect since the phone was invented. Nara, for her part, sobers immediately. She tucks the phone away and sips her soda as though nothing happened. "We'll know more soon, I hope."

And then he's yawning, with Sam's hand coming up to cover Sam's mouth. He sets his soda down and smiles lazily at Nara. "I cooould have been convincing." He's played with this power some already- it would be fun to see if he could extend it all the way into another universe. He bets he could.

Nara stops, tilting her head, examining him with distinctly inhuman focus. "Clever," she says, admiringly. Illusions are something she specializes in, herself, so she's always pleased to see someone else good with them.

As he gets there, he shifts back into his real form. He made the impact he wanted, and she seemed impressed. "Can you see through them? The illusions? I haven't seen anyone here that can yet." Of course, he hasn't tested it much.
Reply
"Of course," she says, as though it should be obvious, although...why, lady. "Illusion is one of my own gifts. I learned to recognize it in others a long time ago."

It had been difficult to keep from trying it out right away, when he'd gotten his abilities back. But Mohinder really didn't need to know about that yet.

He twitches his finger and his Coke flies back over to him, where he continues to sip at it. "Are there a lot of other things you can do?"
