The smell of bacon and eggs could probably be smelled throughout the house. Someone was making breakfast.

Glinda wandered to the kitchen after hearing from Veronica, not exactly looking like herself. "Good morning. Any coffee ready?" she asked as she entered.

"Sure is!" he replied cheerily, in the middle of flipping an egg over. He glanced over his shoulder at her, a slight frown forming. "Everything okay?"

Glinda went to the coffee maker and poured herself a cup before she spoke. "Just a little... unsettlized." She got into the fridge and got out the cream, and then grabbed the sugar bowl and a spoon. "I've been summoned home by the Emperor. I just got the news." She began preparing her coffee.

Summoned? That didn't sound good. "Not any sort of trouble I hope?" Flipping the bacon came next. "How do you like your eggs?"

"Not outwardly," she replied, and then forced a smile. "Emperor Shell is holding a banquet in my honor, apparently." A beat. "Scrambled, please."

"Scrambled, comin' right up," he said, starting in on the batch of eggs. "So... it's a banquet, only not really?" he asked, curious.

"I'm not sure," she replied. "It's... politics. Oz is a very, very confused place these days." She fidgeted a bit. "Although hearing word from a Deer was very... unexpected."

Yes, she pronounced the capital "D".

"Yes, a Deer. In Oz, there are Animals-" Again, pronouncing the capitalization- "who are able to speak, and there are animals."

An eyebrow raised slightly. "Really? That's cool. Here, talking animals ain't so odd either. Back in my home though," he shrugged a little, "not so much. Start going on about talking animals and people think you're nuts."

Or invisible animals, for that matter.

Glinda nodded and sipped her coffee for a moment. "Your home sounds very... quiet," she said after a moment.

"Sometimes it is, sometimes not. Just depends," he shrugged, sliding eggs onto a plate for her and handing it over. "Toast?"

"Yes, please," she said, taking the plate. "And thank you, for making me breakfast."

"No prob," he dropped a couple of pieces of bread into the toaster. "I actually like to cook, just got kinda lazy about it what with all the restaurants around. 'Sides," he grinned, "I owe you for those cookies."

Glinda smiled vaguely. "It was really no trouble. I was making them anyways for the students. I was just happy for you acting as my guinea pig."
