33 Apocalypse Ave., Tuesday morning
Glinda was primping for the day when she noticed one of the island's teal deer staring in the window of the bathroom. Very carefully, she opened the window to shoo it away when something that had not been unusual to her a short time ago, but now was, happened.
It spoke.
"I bear greetings from Oz, madam," it said, bobbing its head. "On behalf of the Emperor."
"Continue," she replied, feeling her body tense.
"He wishes to host a banquet in your honor, and would be most pleased if you would join him in the Emerald City for the weekend. You will expected to arrive on Thursday and return back here on Sunday."
"But I-" Glinda started to protest. If the deer had had eyebrows, it would have raised one, based on the tilt of its head. She sighed. "I will accept his most generous invitation. I will depart first thing Thursday."
The deer nodded, and trotted away from the window. Glinda headed for her room, took out her laptop, and began to type an email to the other teachers.

Subject: Substitute
I find myself called out of town from Thursday to Sunday, as I must return home for a while. Would someone please substitute for me? I can have all the materials ready for you Wednesday evening- just stop by my home at 33 Apocalypse Avenue.

[Open for interaction to the roommates, otherwise just expecting emails from other teachers. I will have what your character would need to sub ready tomorrow. And, finally, OMG, Glinda is so setting up a TA next semester.]
