Catching Up

As usual, there's nothing going on that's so much of note that it deserves an in-depth conversation, so I am resorting to bullet-points:

- I went to Vegas last weekend, and WON! I put $20 into video poker, and left with $60. I am a big winner! And with my winnings I bought a roll of stamps. Booyah!

- Unemployment really kind of sucks. You would think it would be awesome to have so much free time and be able to sleep until noon, but there's a lot less to do when you don't have money. This doesn't mean that I shouldn't be getting out in the sunshine more, though. I think I do better with a schedule. I am such a lab drone.

- Despite the lack of income, I have managed in the past three months to 1) go to London, 2) pay off my mattress entirely, 3) pay off my credit cards entirely, and 4) pay $200 to re-negotiate my gym fees to 42% of the original (paying since 2004) rate. That last one will take me 7 months to balance out with, but after that? Gravy train! All those things mean that I have nearly no Emergency Cushion money, but it also means that I'm not freaking out about debt or recurring expenses. Yay!

- I'm going to stage manage again this year. I've already agreed to be the Big In-Charge Stage Manager for a show in September. I'm actually kind of excited about this. What the hell is wrong with me?

- My apartment is not sparkling, but consistently more clean than I've ever kept my living space, ever. I think this might be a sign of encroaching adulthood.

- I've been watching a lot of TV via Netflix. TV is my wire mommy.

- My introversion has been taking the fore, and I'm finding it more difficult to interact with people, or even leave the house. I think this is a sign of depression settling in, so I'm making an effort to exercise more. This helps, I just need to remember to do it. Also, I totally can't fit into my clothes, so it would be advisable to eat better and exercise more, just so I don't need to purchase new things.

- My Sprint contract ends blessedly soon. Does anyone have suggestions for a new phone? If possible, I'd love it to be free with a new contract (probably moving to Verizon). If not, I'm spending less than $100. I use my phone primarily for making phone calls and sending text messages. In the future, I'll probably want to have internet access, too. I could give a shit about most bells and whistles, though - I have seperate devices for photography and music, and don't need anything too awesome or shiny, so those really aren't interesting components to me. It would be double-awesome if I could take it to a foreign country and have it still work as a phone. Basically, I want something that works and has fairly intuitive interface functions. Comments, thoughts, speculations?
