Man! You know how you'll get into a really artistic or productive mood one day, and not want to do anything but draw? That's how I felt today, yet I spent most of it doing laundry, vacuuming, and cleaning. And I even got up at, like, nine! -flail-
But! Anyway, my room is clean, most of the laundry is done, and this is the last week of not having a mom. She's coming home Friday! Which means I get to do a two-hour drive back and forth to pick her up, but I'm almost used to that friggin' trip by now.
Yesterday, my father felt the urge to go see Inglorious Basterds. [It left our local theater after maybe playing for three days. Regular bastards.] So he decided to drag me with him to go see it, although I had sort of wanted to. Subsequently, I dragged Foamy, and drove most of the way there, almost had a fender-bender changing lanes, etc. My life as a driver, blah blah blah.
I'm really starting to like Quentin Tarantino. No other director has the same blend of disturbing and amusing in their movies. Plus, his characteristic choices of music make everything poignant. Weird?
I dunno.
But there were these twelve-year olds sitting behind us that laughed at the most disturbing and gory parts of it, and I was kind of scandalized. Tarantino's movies are awesome-- for adults.
Guh, I could go off on a serious rant about this, but I won't, because all the arguments have been made before, and far more eloquently.
Also, good news: I don't know if this came up in a previous entry, but I blew about $90 on gaming / art books on Amazon, right? And then there was credit card troubles and we hadn't heard anything from them, yadda yadda yadda, and then I cattleprod my father into calling customer services, and they should be here in the next three days, along with two other books he bought me because it was all his fault that they hadn't arrived yet!
/gleeful
So, I'm glad about that. Gaming books, yaaaay! Art stuff, yaaaay!
Oh, man, now that I can drive, I'm going everywhere. It's nuts. I love the freedom.
But I do feel as if it sort of eats up my time...
I was going to drop by Sterin's and work on some of my senior project goodies, but I spent too much time cleaning. But I'll go tomorrow, which will give me a little more time to work up some more art to post on dA. I feel like I do that every time I go to her house, but she hasn't kicked me or hit me for it, so that's good.
check out my dAaaaa...
My iPod was playing dead for a little while, but now it's come back to life!
And, for some reason, Pandora is unblocked at our school, so now I'm back on the indie music kick. XD I knew I couldn't stay away.
Anyway, not too much going on.
The focus of my senior project keeps wavering and wobbling and I don't know what to think. Should I use My Token Game Idea? Or the comic idea I had? Or should I just throw random shit together and totally phail?
Grrrrrr.
Part of me is worried that no matter what I do, I'm going to fail because everyone in this town thinks anything that's even vaguely animated is a) for kids b) from the the devil or c) only kids from the devil like it
If that's the case, and I can't put in some decent landscape stuff, I'm probably royally fucked.
So, hooray, another great side effect of living in the rural South.
In less depressing news, I think Kingdom Hearts may be making a comeback in my "fandom focus-o-meter".
Whether this is good, bad, or just odd, remains to be seen.
In any case, hope everyone's doing well.
