Okay, so, here's a situation for you:
Things are going well for you, but you're feeling kind of lonely. You've got a partner who's pretty damn sexy, but you still feel as if you'd like someone new in your life, just for the change of pace, the freshness of interacting with someone outside your regular circle. And you even have an idea of who this person is: you've seen them from a distance, hear nothing but great things about them, and all your friends say you'd hit it off like a couple of bottle rockets if you ever met up. And finally, one day, you finally meet them, by chance, and suddenly you're off and running. Things are going great-- you say all the right things, all the best things happen, and the encounter is virtually perfect in every sense. Of course, it helps that you're practically smoldering just looking at this person-- I mean, not only are they almost ridiculously good-looking, but they're smart, they're funny, and they keep giving you... well, you know, "the eyes."
So you decide to go back to your place for maybe a cup of coffee or to take a look at your stamp collection or something, but you know what you're really going home to do... and as you're feverishly trying to unlock your front door, you happen to glance at their hand, resting on your shoulder... and you see that the new love interest that makes your blood run hot and your breath come short is wearing a purity ring.
Like a goddamn Jonas brother.
Now, this extended analogy is serving a purpose other than filling space in an entry, behold the pain:
I bought Bioshock for PC today.
And.
It.
Requires.
A.
Patch.
To.
RUN.
And our PC.
Is not.
Connected.
To.
THE INTARWEBZ.

The only thing keeping me from crying and smashing things and then crying some more is the fact that I have the second disc of the DMC anime to placate me. [My collection is now complete! I could go for the OST.]
But, honestly!
DX<
You'd think they'd just start releasing discs with the patch included, but nooooo...
Ugh. I'm going to try and make it to Viper's tomorrow, to see if I can't somehow download the patch there, and then bring it home and get the thing to run properly.
If I can't, there will be another sexually frustrated analogy and following rant, with probably some pathetic whining and crying.
...
I wanna play Biosh-shoooock... ; _ ;
*crycrycry*
[The funny thing is that The Ex is actually going through the purity ring dealio: he's got a new girlfriend that he's quite enamored with, but she's got a purity ring. And everyone knows that he really, really, really, really, really likes sex. I find myself laughing in the "muwahaha" fashion every time I talk about it. The irony kills me, every time.
...
It's probably nothing to laugh about, in all reality.
...
Muwahahahahaaaa.]
Less funny is the fact that I'm actually using relationship analogies to explain my video game escapades. I've come to the conclusion that I may in fact be some sort of pre-death reincarnation of Liz Lemon. > _ >;;
But, yeah. Went shopping today, got a bunch of art supplies.
I never seem to spend under a hundred bucks at any given Michael's place, you know?
Got a Prismacolor pencil set, some mondo-fine point brushes, and some charcoal pencils. Which means tomorrow is going to be dedicated to figuring out what I want to do for my first art assignment, which I'm sure will be explained in a later post.
I'm excited about it, even if it's a little intimidating! :) [Those who understand the absolute wonderifficness of the Undo function know what I'm talking about.]
I also did a lot of driving today, which was good, because I was probably too sore for EyeToy yesterday to do much else. XD;; Stairs were a pain for me-- which is revealing of how little real exercise I get! Shame on me.
But I'm hoping for nice weather tomorrow, so I can spend lots of time outside.
It's been strange weather lately. Alternately sunny, humid, very hot, and then pouring rain. Makes it kind of jungle-y, all the time.
I don't mind too much, though.
But I am looking forward to sunbathing tomorrow.
It was kind of strange today, I put on a T-shirt and jeans to go shopping today and thought, wow, all these clothes feel weird, because I've been wandering around in shorts and sleeveless shirts for most of my break so far. XD;; It's done things for my self-confidence, weirdly enough.
Go vitamin D! [Which people are considering not calling a vitamin anymore, because it serves so many functions within the body.]
Oh! I recently put in my old Samurai Champloo OST again, because I had a hankering to listen to "Shiki No Uta," the ending theme that features Minmi, and realized I had a rather stunted collection of songs from it on my iPod! I don't know why I didn't put the whole thing into my library, but it's there now. It's an easy soundtrack to listen to, especially when your mind has to be on something else. Perfect for homework, because it keeps you on a kind of rhythm without taking your attention away from the task at hand.
I should keep it on hand for driving...
Mmm.
Still pining for Bioshock... but the fact that I have it at all makes life good.
[If I have to return it and get a refund for my money, I'm blowing it all at Barnes and Nobles in a fit of self pity. D: There was a manga there that looked sort of interesting, but it was shrink-wrapped so I couldn't scan the art. Called "Dogs" or something...
And I am I the only person who gets kind of pissed at the people who go into book stores and sit down with a big stack of manga and just read through them without buying them? I know some people can't afford to buy as many as they'd like-- I'm one of them-- but that's no reason to rip off the store... meh. I don't know.]
I hope the F-list's summer is off to a good start! :)
Am I going to end every post with that now?
P.S. Eating a hot-wings-chicken-wrap thing leftover from lunch before I go to bed. Will let you know if any weird dreams result. Peace and spicy chow!
P.P.S. Received some bad news on the patch thingy for Bioshock from people smarter than I am. May give up, even though I don't want to.
Chicken wrap consumed, but music downloading prevents sleep.
I should be working on SuWriMo.
