Guess it's about time for me to do my drama/toku report. :O
Kiva, up to 14
I only enjoy the scenes in the 80s. Otoya is a blast. Everything in current day is kinda blah. Kengo is getting on my nerves (alright, I get it, you're seriously into playing a song that sounds eerily like Double-Action at points and you like the word shakin', can we move on now?) but on the upside, I do love Nago, if only for his insanity and delusions of grandeur. I'm most looking forward to the inevitable duckface = Kiva reveal because Nago is just gonna explode. 8D;;
Go-onger, up to 11
Not much of a plot to be found here, but I'd be lying if I said the episodes didn't entertain me for ~25 minutes. Sosuke seems to have forgotten that he was able to talk normally for an episode or two and has reverted to his Ban imitation. Which, doesn't really bother me, actually. Nothing has reached Jan level, at least :P
G6 is cool, I suppose, seems a little early for a combo mecha but it looks like these things are getting earlier and earlier. Gaiarc has had some good (almost smart) ideas lately, but that's about it. Para para bola bola! :9
Kuuga, 1 - 24
With the completion of the translation of the softsubs from the Brazilian toku sub team, I opted to download the whole series and go through it. When I finish, it'll make Ryuki the only Heisei Rider I haven't completed. :O
Godai/Ichijou subtext is everywhere but I totally knew that from when I watched TV-Nihon's 1 - 4 subs so all I can say is great success!
The plot itself seems to be moving slowly but surely. I've read a bit peripherally on Kuuga during my time in the fandom so I have a general idea of where this is going but the ride is still fun. I was also struck by fanart inspiration, but I'm not sure if it'll go anywhere because for the life of me I can't draw horses. Shame, too, because it's a really cool idea.

It was subbed!!1 ...and it was pretty cracky, and I love it. Can't wait for more. I hope this sub team finishes it. ;-;
THE NEXT
Yeah I went and downloaded the .iso because word on the street is that it won't be subbed due to licensing. It wasn't hard to understand, but of course when I watch it at 2am I'm not too interested in sentence structure anyway.
I... didn't really like it? I say that in the nicest way possible because it was pretty good. But, like Igadevil's spoiler-review, I found more than half the movie to be useless at worst. I guess I much prefer THE FIRST's romance/action to THE NEXT's horror/action. I'm actually hoping for a third one in the series (THE FINAL, anyone?) because I feel like THE NEXT needs something follow it up.
At the end of the day it was a bunch of hot guys running around in leather suits kicking eachother dramatically so color me impressed! (PS: speaking of hot guys, this sequel had tons of Hongo/Ichimonji subtext... I guess that's what happens when you take the chick out of the movie)
Ultra Galaxy, 13
I said I was going to go finish this like, at the beginning of the year, but it's sat on my harddrive since then and I only just watched episode 13. Considering I could barely remember the events leading up to the final episode, it wasn't too bad! How it's explained Ultraman is trapped in a mountain I'm not quite sure, but hey, kaijuu! I love King Joe Black and Z-Ton. *A*;; Also, dramatic escape. :D;
Back when it was still airing I heard rumors of a season two for this show, but I guess that never happened. The ending is pretty open so I guess it's possible, if they choose to do so.
ROOKIES, 1 - 2
I dutifully watched both episodes raw, but with the release of subs for 1 I went back and re-watched it (though it was all pretty-self explanatory the first time if you had seen Gokusen or WataKyou, as ROOKIES has similar themes).
Shunji adds "nya~" to the end of his sentences and idk, it cracks me up so hard. Yeah, don't even try to be masculine. xD; Takeru's hair is... well... LOL TAKERU'S HAIR.
In all seriousness, despite my complete lack of interest in sports of any kind, I'm actually enjoying this so far and I hope it keeps it up once it gets into real baseball territory.

Yeahhhh I totally downloaded this too. I... don't know what else to say, other then that it was interesting and sweet. (However, it was pretty weird seeing Nago (Keisuke) be all kind and caring.) I really wonder what goes through the actor's minds when they have to do shirtless scenes, or abstractly-implied-sex scenes. Or, in Makita's case, rape scenes. xD ONE DAY I'LL FIND OUT ;-;
Dobutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing)
Yes the movie was FINALLY subbed, albeit in 4 parts (stupid sub team!)... That said I absolutely adored it. It was full of things that only someone who has played the game would get it, as they don't explain half of it! The soundtrack was pretty much taken straight from the game, and I loved every second of it. FUN FACT: Oguri Shun voiced K.K. Slider! :3
I'd compare this movie to the Aria series. It's that touching.
Whoo I think that's everything. Oh, wait. DenKiva: Climax Deka DVD release 7/21!! Considering the normal theater-to-DVD turn-around, I'm super excited. If only the Ultra 8 Brothers movie would do that.
