OH GOD I'M NOT DEAD YET I SWEAR. How long has it been since I last updated? I didn't even mean to have such a large gap... life just got really busy out of freaking nowhere.

So, let's hit some highlights!

In the time between my last entry and now, I have gone through 2 - 3 weeks of 2 hour class time, and have passed. I now have 3 more real in-car driving lessons before I can get my license. I hope to finish shortly, if not just to get it out of the way.
The driving instructor for the class I went to is a douche and likes to smoke in the car. He harasses you the whole time you drive and doesn't really give you time to think or react to anything. My last lesson he made me cry, but I tried not to show it.
Thankfully, there is another instructor, but he only drives on Sunday. Needless to say, because he's nicer and doesn't breathe nicotine in your face, his drive times are a little harder to schedule since you're competing with everyone else. I hope to at least drive my freeway and test lessons with him, because I consider those really important and I'd like to do it with someone, you know, nice.
I'm not really a fan of driving. It's scary and I don't like cars. But it's necessary and I won't lie, the independence is nice. Or, the tease of it at least. Not much independence without a car of your own and a permit. :|

As for college hunting, I have since visited 2 campuses - SMU (Southern Methodist University) and UNT (University of North Texas). They're probably the only 2 colleges I'll be visiting since they're really the only places that offer anything close to what I'm looking for.
SMU is a private school and costs ~$40k+. Naturally that means it has some really nice luxuries (a goldfish dispenser in the cafeteria), plus its elitist reputation. However, as my interest is a major in game development, SMU appears to be lacking. They have no digital graphics/animation undergrad program, and you can only get close to graphic design.
On the other hand, UNT is a public school closer to $20k and does offer a digital/animation program. It's also a lot easier to get accepted into, but doesn't have the elitist rep and some may say its education is not as high quality.
After seeing the UNT campus and learning about their ungrad program, I'm considering picking them. Not only is the cost much more reasonable, but I have a much better chance of getting in, and they actually have my field of interest. However, I still need to get scholarship money, no matter which college I end up going to, which means I have been enrolled in some rather rigorous SAT and ACT prep between now and the beginning of June when I take the tests.
My scores on the PSAT were not bad by any means. I'm pretty smart when it comes down to it, but there's some definite room for improvement and if I'm going to get any good chunk of scholarship money I have to aim for a little over 1300 on the SAT. I'm not looking forward to spending even more time away from home and working, but I don't have a choice at this point.

Naturally with all this going on there's hardly any time for me to keep up with things. I'm still behind on all the toku, and my backlog of shows to watch grows daily. The only things I can sort of follow are the Let's Plays. (Been making my way through No More Heroes lately and omg, is that game amazing or what?) I've also been sucked into the Hetalia fandom and I have no regrets. It is amazing and hilarious and everyone is so kind. I have no idea where all the wank and arguments people on fandomsecrets always complain about is, because I've had a great time in my short stay so far.

So just a quick update. I'll try to post more often, but it feels like my time for the internet is decreasing and it's really quite distressing. I still check my friends list daily (if not multiple times per day) so I'm aware, just not active.

WE'LL MEET AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE, INTERNET.
