Okay I lied turns out spring break really sucked.
- Went to the eye doctor, prescription has not changed at all since my check-up 4 years ago. Ordered new frames anyway (cos they were BLUE!!) and went to go pick them up today. Turns out the frames are broken and the company is disbanded so they cannot be replaced. :| I was really set on having blue frames and was quite depressed when I found them broken. Mother is promising me we'll go to other optical places and find some more blue frames but I'm less optimistic.
- College search has been fully initiated, and my mother has teamed up with Jess' mother to find colleges for both of us, especially since our desired fields are in the same department. Lots of false starts and plenty of arguing and subsequent depression, but right now we seemed to have settled on SMU and UNT. Despite SMU standing for Southern Methodist University (ughh I really don't wanna be associated with religion), it has the best videogame production class in the nation, called Guildhall. Unfortunately it's a private college and this means trouble. However, on April 17th, I'm skipping school to get a private tour of the campus and sit in on an art class. :3
- Driver's ed was registered for and has already begun. Lasts until April 10th. I, luckily enough, am taking it in what counts as the ghetto in this area, so I have some pretty classy peers. :| It's 6:30 - 8:30pm which means no more naps for me for the next 3 weeks or so. I just want to get it over with. It's not difficult, really, just... I've never really had a great interest in learning how to drive.
- Had my internship interview yesterday. Went pretty well, I think. The project coordinator is really nice. Turns out there are already two boys currently in the program working under animation, one at Gearbox (which would be so cool to do) and another at Reel FX. I hope I made a good impression, despite my trouble academically last semester. I'll get a response in the mail hopefully by the end of April.
- Finally beat the Elite 4 in Pokemon Diamond, partly due to my new Regigigas I picked up from Toys R Us. /woot Also scored me a Cresselia and was going to go after Heatran next when my interest faded again. I'd like to pick up Platinum, but I'm not sure the new dungeon really justifies buying the same game all over again. I suppose I'll just wait for the inevitable next gen.
- Bought Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume for DS and stormed through it in a handful of days. I got ending B due to intense game difficulty, so I think I'm gonna go for ending C next and then use new game+ for ending A.
- Waiting on the next console Zelda announcement. :( Game Developer's Conference revealed another DS Zelda in the similar vein of Phantom Hourglass, but I don't care much for the Wind Waker canon. (As much as I adore WW, when we start getting into Minish Cap and onwards my interest wanes...) Zelda's 25th anniversary isn't far, so I'm sure they've got something in the works. Just a matter of time when it's revealed. I'm praying for a game with the artistic and gameplay style of Twilight Princess and the innovation of... well... something really innovating. (Zelda is hardly the pinnacle of innovation, haha.)
Besides all that, I have made a noticeable attempt to finally finish Go-onger and am only 3 or 4 episodes away. Then maybe I can turn my full attention back to Shinkenger and Decade...
