Character name: Kevas Background: Kevas has no memory of who his parents were, though he doesn't really care either. At a young age his parents were killed while traveling across Hillsbrad. They had almost reached their destination when they were ambushed and killed by members of the Alliance. Kevas was found not long after by a dwarf, lying beneath the corpse of his father barely alive himself. The dwarf was Gunry, an assassin of the Ravenholdt Manor. Feeling pity for the child, Gunry saved Kevas from death, taking him back to Ravenholdt. There, once Kevas recovered from his wounds, Gunry took the troll child on as his protege.
At fourteen, Kevas accompanied Gunry for his first assassination. His mission was to find and eliminate a young, human peasant. His only mistake was stumbling upon the secret Ravenholdt Manor. Wishing for the manor to remain secret, Lord Jorach Ravenholdt ordered the boy must be slain. Gunry saw this as a perfect opportunity for Kevas to test his skills. Eager to prove his worth, Kevas immediately set about hunting his target. It wasn't difficult to find the boy and slay him, but Kevas made a horrible mistake when he did. Looking into his eyes, Kevas saw all the boy's fear, pain, and confusion. It made him want to vomit though he didn't know why. Kevas never mentioned this to anyone when he returned.
At twenty Kevas joined the Horde as a Ravenholdt informant. He would relay information back to the manor and kill those that he was told to. Unfortunately, things would become complicated as time went on. It was with the Horde where Kevas found companions and friends. It was with the Horde where Kevas found his three loves: liquor, women, and money. Suddenly Kevas found himself torn between his new allegiance and his old. Eventually Kevas was forced to choose and he killed all that knew him, including his wife. Kevas snapped shortly after that and fled.
After that, Kevas spent four years as a vagabond, wandering from place to place and taking whatever jobs he could. He drank more than ever, trying to drown his memories. When he met Monoxide he began feeling like his old self. Unfortunately, just when things seemed their brightest Kevas' past finally caught up to him. After years of persistent searching his father finally managed to track him down. Gunry kidnapped Monoxide and used him as bait to draw Kevas into an ambush. Knowing full well what he was getting into, Kevas gave chase. After freeing Monoxide, Kevas faced off with several assassins, and then finally, his father. Gunry held the advantage throughout the fight and before dealing the final blow Gunry hesitated, giving Kevas enough time to deliver a fatal counter-attack. Kevas barely escaped the village with his life.
Unable to find Monoxide again, Kevas wandered for a time. Tired of having to choose between duty and family, he decided that the only orders he would follow now were his own. Those he choose to kill were those he believed to be scum of the earth. During his travels he met a young half-elf girl whom he adopted and trained to follow in his footsteps. They met others like them who would join them in their cause. Eventually Kevas even managed to reunite with Monoxide, but again, just when things seemed brightest, his life came crashing down around them. They were betrayed by one of their own. Only Kevas and Willow survived the betrayal though they were severely wounded. After leaving Willow in the care of Monoxide, Kevas left in pursuit of the betrayer to finish things once and for all.

Personality: The number one thing in Kevas' life is his family. They're safety and happiness is all he really cares about. It's the sole reason why he keeps going. Without his family, Kevas is left without a purpose and does nothing but wallow in his depression and self-loathing. However, Kevas always seems to be on the look out for more to add to his family so that he's never alone. To his family, Kevas is loyal to a fault but to others, not so much, men especially. Kevas has a hard time trusting other men as so many have betrayed him in the past. He'll drink with them, he'll laugh with them, but he'll get no closer. Women on the other hand, can easily wrap him around their finger. The troll likes to think of himself as a gentleman as well as a ladies man and is always eager to please. Still, the troll refuses to become romantically involved with anyone as a form self-punishment for his actions.
Besides drinking, the troll's biggest bad habit is locking away his emotions, even from his family. Kevas can almost always be seen with a cheerful smile but whether it's real or not is hard to tell. He sees himself as his family's pillar of support and fears if he show's a sign of weakness, then they can't rely on him. Eventually this dam breaks, and when that happens there's only one thing Kevas will do: drink till he collapses. Kevas is also very secretive about his past, speaking very little of it or just fabricating a back story for himself. He also refuses to pry into the past of others unless he has to.
Appearance: Kevas stands a little above seven feet tall. Although taller than most, this is about average for a troll. He hunches slightly making him look shorter than he actually is. His body is thin and wiry with no excess fat. Like all trolls, his ears are long and pointed like an elf's. His long nose is a darker shade of blue than the rest of his body. He has dark red eyes, two fingers and a thumb on his hands, and two toes on his feet. Each of his fingers, thumbs, and toes end with thick claws. Despite his long years of fighting, Kevas appears to have no scars. All he has is a large patch of darkened skin on his chest. It was once a large burn scar but after paying healers several treatments it's been mostly removed. His hair is dark green, though it is kept under his purple, wide-brimmed hat most of the time. Needless to say he has very bad hat hair.
Skills/Abilities: Kevas is highly trained with his twin swords, but he's an assassin more than a swordsman. In a fight Kevas does not play fair, using low blows, poisons, and flash pellets to name a few of his tricks.
Like all trolls, Kevas has the ability to regenerate which keeps him fighting with even the most grievous of wounds. However he can't not regrew appendages as some claim.
Surprisingly, Kevas knows quite a bit about flower. He knows which make the most effective poisons and which make effective antidotes to those poisons.
Kevas has three abilities that could be considered magic. The first is his ability to wrap his shadow around himself, bending the light around him and becoming invisible. This ability is most effective at night and in dark places. Anyone within about five feet of him should be able to make out his outline. The second is his cloak of shadows which turns his body into a thick, shadowy mist. Any spells, both harmful and helpful, past through him like this. However a physical attack will still make contact with him and this ability only lasts for about ten seconds. Last is his shadowstep, which allows to move through the shadows and reappear behind his target. Though useful, it's completely useless if there are no shadows around
Last, but definitely not least, is Kevas' ability to drink a copious amount of alcohol, once drinking twenty bottles of ale before passing out.
Spoken/Written languages: Kevas speaks, reads, and writes Zandali, Orcish, and Common. He can also read, write (though not very well), and understand Thalassian but can't speak it because he says the words are too complicated for his mouth.

Items: At the time of his arrival all Kevas will be carrying is his weapons and armor His weapons include his twin swords, several throwing axes, a number of poisons, and several flash pellets, all of which will be taken from him.
Third person sample: Kevas sat in the back of the Salty Sailor Inn savoring his mug of cherry grog. These were the moments he enjoyed the most. Relaxing in his favored inn, drinking his favored liquor, and gazing at the women. If only he could spend the rest of his life like this: drinking liquor and seducing women. What a glorious life it would be! He took another long sip from his mug, tasting smooth cherry flavor followed by the strong aftertaste of grog. The drink was quite strong and if he didn’t pace himself it could easily end up making a second trip back up his throat. No matter how much he liked it, cherry grog didn’t taste so good after a second time. Not only that, but vomiting his liquor wasn’t the greatest way to impress the ladies.
There was some shouting going on towards the front of the bar, a tauren and a pink-skin by the sound of things. The pair of drunken fools had gotten into a fight over something. Kevas didn’t care much about it. Drunks got into fights all the time in Booty Bay. All that he cared about right now was the tauren beauty who was eyeing him across the bar. He had been wooing her from afar, giving her sly winks and sending her liquor. The tauren licked her lips and beckoned Kevas over to her. A wry grin spread across the troll’s face. Time to work my magic, he thought as he walked toward the tauren’s table.
Suddenly he felt someone bump into him. Kevas stumbled and lost his grip on his mug. It fell to the floor, spilling the grog. Kevas starred at the spilled liquor in horror. All thoughts of the tauren left his mind as lust was slowly replaced with fury. There was nothing Kevas hated more than to see liquor be wasted. Especially when it was his liquor. Someone was going to pay for this! He looked up and saw the drunken tauren gloating over the body of the unconscious pink-skin. Kevas had no way of knowing if the tauren had been the one that bumped into him but at the moment, Kevas didn’t care if he had or not. The tauren was the first he saw and he would be the one to receive his wrath.
A primal growl escaped his throat as Kevas drew his swords. At the moment the tauren paid no attention to Kevas. He was too busy gloating over the pink-skin to notice the infuriated troll coming from behind. Gripping the hilts of his swords tightly, Kevas slammed both sword butts into the tauren's backside. Even through his mail armor he felt the blow as he cried out in pain. The tauren spun around. His eyes filled with drunken rage. Picking his two-handed hammer over his head, the tauren swung it downwards in an attempt to pulp Kevas’ head. Kevas easily moved out of the way of the drunk’s attack. The force of the hammer was so great it embedded itself into the inn’s floor. As the tauren tried to pull his hammer out from the floor, Kevas took the opportunity to strike again. Kevas dashed forward and swung a sword hilt at the tauren’s head. With surprising speed the tauren struck Kevas with a large, furry fist sending him sprawling across the bar.
Kevas picked himself back up and wiped the blood from his chin. His jaw was throbbing in pain. One of his swords had slipped from his hand and slid under the table next to him. Already the tauren was attacking him again having pulled his hammer free. Quickly reaching into a pouch on his belt, Kevas grabbed a flash pellet and threw it at the oncoming tank. The tauren swore loudly as the pellet did its job, going off right his face. Dropping his hammer, he clawed madly at his eyes. Kevas grinned devilishly.

He calmly strode towards his blinded opponent. The muscles in his legs tightened as he swung his leg upwards, driving it into the tauren’s groin. A moan echoed throughout the bar as men looked on in horror. A quiet squeak escaped the tauren’s lips. He fell to his knees clutching his now shattered jewels. Spinning the sword in his hand, Kevas slammed its hilt down on the tauren’s head, knocking him out cold. He collapsed onto the floor, twitching slightly. Kevas placed his foot onto the defeated drunk’s back and roared triumphantly.
“You know you’re gonna pay for these damages,” the goblin innkeeper said, ruining Kevas’ moment of glory.
Kevas gazed around the bar. Chairs had been broken. Mugs had been shattered. There was a large hole in the floor where the tauren had slammed his hammer down on it.
“Um...well...uh...WHAT DA HELL IS DAT!?” Kevas’ face was suddenly filled with horror and pointed over the goblin’s head. The innkeeper spun around and saw...his confused bartender. When he turned back around he found that Kevas had vanished.
Kevas watched, while hidden behind several crates, the innkeeper charge out of the bar shouting things that would make a pirate’s mother cry. Bruisers rushed to calm the irate goblin down while others began searching for Kevas.
Looks like I won’t be commin’ back here fuh awhile, Kevas thought as he crept towards the exit.

Kevas first met Lith, a troll shaman and his future wife, during one of his assassinations. They were both after the same target, a blood elf who knew too much for his own good. Lith was ordered to question. Kevas was ordered to silence him. Each of them fought their way through the elf's hired guards before they ran into each other. Kevas tried to bribe her but Lith was a fiercely loyal member of the Horde and refused. She instead offered that they would duel for the elf's fate. Eager to complete his mission and confident in his abilities Kevas accepted...and quickly found himself laying face first in the dirt afterwords. Lith had beat him, and quite easily too. It was then that the female troll sparked an interest in Kevas. After some brutal questioning Lith left the elf in the hands of Kevas, who quickly disposed of him. When he sent his report into Ravenholdt, Kevas found himself leaving out this new female troll.
For a time after that Kevas followed Lith from the shadows. He could not for the life him understand this sudden interest in her but he told himself it was only because she beat him so easily and that he just couldn't let that stand. After stalking Lith for almost a week, she finally called him out and offered him a spot in her camp. Kevas was stunned but accepted her offer. He asked how she knew he was there and all she told him was that the spirits told her. He couldn't tell if she was joking or not. Sitting by the fire next to her they began to talk. It was nothing more than chit-chat really but for the first time in years Kevas was having a conversation with someone without an ulterior motive...and he liked it. The more they talked the more Kevas wanted to keep talking. Underneath that brutal warrior he first met he found a true woman.
After that Kevas continued traveling with Lith and the closer they grew until finally a love blossomed between them. Whenever Ravenholdt gave him a mission to complete Kevas could always manage to coax her to head in the direction he needed to go. He would always tell her that he needed to deliver a package or find some rare herb or something of that like. Lying to her killed him, but it kept him close to her and that was what he wanted. Soon enough Kevas' reports to Ravenholdt would come later and later until finally Gunry had had enough. Late one night Gunry met with Kevas personally, telling him that Kevas was either with them or with Lith and to prove his loyalty he must kill the woman he loved.
The decision tore at him but eventually Kevas choose to prove his loyalty to his master. In the middle of the night, Kevas crept into their tent, drew his blade, and murdered his love. Unfortunately it was not a quick death for Lith. Kevas hands had been shaking and his just missed her heart. In her last moments Lith stared into Kevas' eyes in confusion and horror and shortly after that something broke within Kevas. He fled from Ravenholdt, his father, and his past wanting nothing do to with any of them any longer.

When Kevas met Monoxide he was no longer in his right mind. While he did not actively seek death, Kevas was far more careless than he normally was. Monoxide first found Kevas battling a large group of centaur. He was outnumbered and slowly being overwhelmed. When it looked like they were just about to kill him, Monoxide sprung in to help. He did little more than serve as a distraction but it was all Kevas needed to get the upper hand. When the battle was over Kevas tried to run Monoxide off but the younger troll refused to listen. Eventually Kevas collapsed from his wounds and was forced to accept Monoxide's help.
Little by little Monoxide managed to get Kevas to talk, and while they spoke little of their past, Kevas found that Monoxide knew next to nothing about how to survive in the wilds of Azeroth. In return for saving his life Kevas offered to teach Monoxide how to survive and Monoxide eagerly accepted. Kevas told the younger troll that once he was sure Monoxide could take care of himself he would leave. After four years Kevas still remained with Monoxide. Whether Monoxide was really just that inept or if he was just desperate for company Kevas wasn't sure, but in that time Monoxide managed to worm his way into Kevas' heart. They were like brothers and the more time Kevas spent with Monoxide, the happier he felt himself become.
And more personality: Kevas is generally a laid-back and easy going fellow. If someone spits in his face, Kevas will shrug it off. If someone insults him, Kevas will merely jab back playfully. If someone picks a fight with him, Kevas will try to worm out of it (unless of course Kevas wanted that person dead in the first place). However there are somethings that easily set him off. If someone wastes liquor, especially his liquor Kevas will go on the attack. If someone touches his hat without permission Kevas will break their hand. If someone attacks or hurts a woman Kevas will immediately jump to her aid (something that's gotten him into trouble multiple times). Lastly, if someone hurts his family or someone he loves, Kevas will go to extraordinary lengths to see that person suffer.

Despite living in a world inhabited by gods and spirits, Kevas is extremely secular. It's not that he doesn't believe in their existence, in fact he's met more than one, but he refuses to believe in them and actually out right despises them. It all comes back to Lith. While he knows she died because of him he blames them for not stepping in and doing anything. He's come to believe that spirits and gods do nothing but toy with the lives of mortals for their own fun and personal gain and thinks that everyone would be better off without them.
