This was my fourth year of keeping track of what books I read. For 2011 my goals were "I will read at least 50 books. Out of these, at least 30 will be books that I already own, but have not read. I will not reread more than 5 books." I read 51, but only 11 were books that I already owned. The rest were a mix of purchases (mostly used) and library books. However, I am kind of excited that 0 out of 51 were rereads. I am usuall a frequent rereader, so this was a huge accomplishment for me.
My favorite books of the year were
Last Night in Twisted River,
Half Broke Horses,
The Hunger Games trilogy,
The Little Book, and
The Help. My least favorite were
Of Bees and Mist and
Time and Again.
My book related resolution for 2011 is to read at least 5 classics, 3 presidential biographies and at least 10 books that I already own. I would make loftier goals, but I have a feeling I am going to be reading lots of pre-pregnancy books (and, if we get lucky, pregnancy books) so I am hesitant to make the goals any more stringent than that.
