Nigella (!) Lawson is wonderful. I like cooking her recipes - but most of all I love watching her cook and eat. It's porn.
(But I meant it all ironically, of course, because they messed up her name. :)

Thank you. Maybe I will learn something from (corrected) Anthropologie.

I am kind of disgusted, especially after looking at their prices. It's funny because their "target" is similar to me in a lot of ways, except I would never spend this kind of money on clothes, so absolutely not like me in the one way that really counts.

I mean, if the reason the clothes was that expensive was because it is all hand-made by co-ops of women in third world nations using organic, sustainable materials and the profits were all being used to fund programs for providing education, health care access and employment opportunities to underprivileged girls and women around the world THEN I could maybe see why their target would shop there. I might just if I could also check the "affluent" box. I would view it as a charitable donation with a nifty dress as a bonus.

Yeah, honest to goodness fairly-traded products are hard to find. Those certifications may or may not actually mean anything in practice.

The Powers That Be at Anthropologie also own a brand of really expensive jeans called Free People (of all things!), which of course are also made in sweatshops.

The chain Urban Outfitters is also owned by Anthropologie (slightly cheaper).
