I absolutely agree with everything you said fickledame.

I think people may have felt Veronica was out of character because we never really see her so out of focus, especially if that was caused by someone she loves(loved?). She acted on impulse - a very jealous impulse that obscured her judjment. Notice how she spat out the tidbit about Logan and Madison to Dick without even realizing what she did till it was too late to take it back. There's still that vengeful season 1 Veronica harboring in season 3 Veronica but she has had some growth in the past three years for her to realize that crushing Madison's car will only momentarily gratify her need for revenge but it won't take back what happened or minister her wounded heart and ego.

I think every person who feels like they have been wronged by someone they were dating become a bit unhinged at some point that we all do something out of character. Veronica's inability to stop thinking about what happened in Aspen sort of became an obsession for her and I think that's why it was instantaneous for her to follow Madison home without even asking herself 'why' and plot some horrid revenge.

As trite as this may sound, I think we should just give her credit for rising above the whole thing.

Personally, I just don't get why she felt the need to take out her anger on Madison at all, instead of Logan. Sure, she dislikes Madison, and sure, Madison slept with Logan, but what does Madison owe Veronica? Absolutely nothing. What reason did Veronica ever have to think that Madison would consider her feelings, or avoid hurting her? Madison doesn't even like her, nor does she owe her anything. Logan, on the other hand, was the one who was supposedly in love with her. He was the one she wanted to continue to have a relationship with, and he is the one she now can't trust. So why is she trying to crush Madison's car? Because Madison opened her legs, and her temporary ex walked right into them?

I'm not absolving Logan of any wrong doing in this situation nor Madison or Veronica - I have my own little beef with each one of them.

Logan: despite knowing every reason why Veronica abhors Madison, it was really hurtful what he did. I agree with everything Veronica had said. What was he thinking when he was hooking up with her?

Madison: she's just the person everyone loves to hate. The actress herself does a good job portraying her indifference to everyone and how self centered she is. Veronica conceiving the idea of cubing her car wasn't just because she flaunted sleeping with Logan - it was the culmination of everything she has done to Veronica and this recent Aspen event was just the catalyst for a breakdown. Obviously Madison doesn't really care about anyone else but herself, but I think that's what fueled Veronica's need for vengeance even more is Madison's lack or remorse for everything and anything she does.

Veronica: overall she's too harsh on Logan. Granted she has forgiven him numerous times, but she refuses to trust him because of his past, so maybe she hasn't completely forgiven him. Sometimes I feel she uses his past faults as a form of leverage even though he's tried to prove himself to her.

All three characters have their faults when dealing with this specific situation. Logan for answering his libido and bypassing that moral compass, Madison for just being a heartless bitch, and Veronica for being too judgmental and expecting Logan to be almost, if not, completely infallible.

But...I still come to Veronica's defense when it came to severing her relationship with Logan and stalking Madison. She's hurt and angry and was thrown off balance.
