This will contain spoilers through 03x02, but hopefully not the preview or future spoilers. Also, due to content I am going to have to suggest a PG-15 rating on this post. (Just to be safe, if you are not over the age of consent in your state, maybe you shouldn’t read this) I really don’t want any parents yelling at me.
I’ve been reading over the speculation for the rapist and figured we could use a consolidation, plus a few points I wanted to add.
Locks on dorm room doors:
The point has been made that the sorority would have had the keys to Parker’s door earlier that day. I’m assuming this is meant to mean they could have copied the keys I guess, but remember those keys have do not duplicate written on them. When I thought about duplicating mine in college I had to do it in another town where the keys were not recognized, because campus had gone to a lot of trouble making sure the local hardware stores would not do that.
More importantly in my opinion is the fact the doors are standard key locks. {My college switched to electronic automatic locking things that required swipe cards and codes to open after a series of home invasions} These can simply be left unlocked; meaning whoever dropped her off could have not flipped the lock and known they (or someone else) could get in later.
Finally, I know that on my campus at night there is always an on call RA that has a master key to let people who are locked out into their dorms. I don’t know if this is how it works at Hearst, but Chip is an RA and would potentially have access to the key. They tend to be specific to individual dorms, do we know if Wallace and Mac are in the same building?
Pre-prejudices in suspects:
Someone suggested a female suspect earlier on the board, and I think this avenue warrants thought. Veronica heard a buzzing that is now being assumed is a shaver, but what if her first thoughts where right and it was a sex toy. This would allow a female to be the criminal. Personally I’ve never heard a vibrator, do they sound anything like an electric shaver?
Everyone has been looking for a male criminal here. This means not only is a female suspect being overlooked, she very well may not be noticed by witnesses and possibly not included in the investigation at all. This would also mean all the new security procedures for keeping boys out of girl’s halls would be pointless. Facilitating the continuation of these crimes.
I don’t remember the details of the episode where Troy is accused of rape, but it does it say if any DNA evidence has been collected from the victims? Or mention if a condom was known to be used?
Connections between victims:
It’s been implied that many of the victims where involved with greek life before they became raped. I just wanted to get these details straight.
- The girl from last season was at a frat party or a party with several frat boys at it?
- Several (3 or 4) girls were at the sorority pledge parties or any of the sorority's parties?
- Any details known about the Hawaiian girl's activities?
Are all the girls’ freshmen at the time of their rapes?
If you have any other things to add or answers to the questions, please post below and I will keep this updated.
