Rainy Saturday

Oct 15, 2005 18:47

It has been raining now for about four days and I'm really worried that we are going to lose all of our beautiful leaves before I get a chance to get out and take some pictures! They are just about at their peak. Hopefully the rain will let up some this week and there will still be some leaves to photograph ( Read more... )

Hi there,

I like your LJ. Wow, you´ve got grown up kids already. Mine are 16,14 and 5. My oldest one is named Nick too! I´m so sorry to read about your older son. What do you mean by celiac disease (tried to look it up in a dictionary but I couldn´t make anything out of it)?

Hi Peekabooh! Thanks for checking out my LJ. I love yours too. I'll add you to my friends list and thanks for adding me to yours.

Celiac disesase is when a person can't tollerate anything with gluten in it (wheat/barley/rye). It sounds terrible by I have heard from several people that it is not hard to manage, you just have to be careful what you eat. It will be hard for him though, because he loves all kinds of breads. I've been told that the stores where I live carry a good supply of gluten free products, I just have never looked for them before. He'll find out it a couple of weeks if that's what it is. Please keep him in your prayers.

That sounds terrible. If that is the kind of disease he has, I surely hope that he´ll be able to live with it as normal as possibly can. Oh and don´t bother about the fact he won´t let you do any Reiki on him. Kids never take anything from their parents (except money of course). Most of the time someone else has to talk to them (preferably a friend with no life-experience at all). He´ll be ok, I´m sure! I will pray for him. Hugs Peekabooh.

I'm here too, Laurie! I have an LJ but I only joined LJ so I could post on my friends journals by name instead of "anonymous". LOL

Sorry to hear about your son, hope the diagnosis is not as bad as you fear.

Vermont must be looking very beautiful at the moment. Well... when it's not raining that is! The trees were just turning when we were in the US.

Hi caffyolay! Celiac disease sounds bad but it's not as bad as some of the other things they tested him for, such as crones disease (I don't think I spelled that right). I have heard from a number of people who know someone with it and they say it is quite easy to handle. It will be good to know one way or the other what is wrong with him so he can start to heal.

The leaves are beautiful but there is a weather advisory on for all of today for high winds along with the rain so I think the leaves will be gone by next week, darn!

Crohn's (that doesn't look right either...) is not nice but it is controlable. My cousin's daughter has it. Took them years to find out what it was but now her medication controls the condition. But as you said, really you just want to know what the heck it is. Will be sending good thoughts your way.

Heavy rain here too, then good for two days, then back to the rain.

As I said, tell your youngest, THE NAVY!!!! He may not see too much of Iraq, then. Love the idea of your reiki circle, and what a great idea. I hope it goes well.

Snapesoul, I have been plugging the Navy above all others, as all of the men in my family that have gone into the service (my Dad and Brother are 2) have gone into that branch and were happy with it. Now he's saying he wants to work a little while before he makes a decision.

The reiki circle was great! I really can't wait to do it again, it makes me feel like I am doing something for all of you who put your life on the line for others.

Hey creamuts!!! It seems LJ is a really small world. Or is it that Alan fans have a knack for congregating in one place...
