It's still cold here, but just a lovely peaceful start to this day.
Last night, I didn't have EFM (I give our group the Monday of Holy Week off), so a friend and I went to hear a group from her church present The Stations of the Cross from a woman's perspective. It was very moving--they did the program in the small chapel at their church, and it was a very meditative atmosphere.
Today is, like I said, a quiet day--I'm going to do some housework, and get my thoughts together for the Easter choir breakfast and then Easter dinner.
I went out to the cemetery yesterday to take flowers for my dad's grave--it's been 13 years since he died (which was on a Maundy Thursday that year) and it's funny--it seems like yesterday whenever it gets to this time of year. I got really upset Sunday night-woke up crying because I realized I'd forgotten to take the flowers on the actual date, which would have been Saturday. This is the first year since Daddy died that I forgot to go on the actual date. I just got so busy with all the activities of this weekend that I let it slip up on me.
Darrell's bday would be this coming Saturday--he would have been 55, and I'll go take flowers for him both for his bday and Easter, as well as for Easter for Mom & Dad.
Not much else to report here today--but I did find Easter lights, and hung them outside yesterday, so that made me happy.
I love this week, which Christians call Holy Week. Although it's a tough one emotionally, for spiritual and personal reasons, I always appreciate Easter more after going through these hard days.
