Pre-Thanksgiving Lunch and Trivia--Turkeys All Around!

Nov 23, 2008 17:13

Last night at trivia, our team won, so each of us (including our Indian player, whose family is vegetarian) won a whole turkey! I need to call my godkids' mom to find out if she's already bought one, or otherwise there's going to be a lot of turkey that's going to have to go somewhere.

Today at my home church, we had a Thanksgiving lunch--complete with turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, rolls, all sorts of veggies (green bean casserole, of course), and a wonderful dessert buffet. My contribution was a dish of sweet potatoes, cooked in butter, sprinkled with nutmeg and mini-marshmallows, and a spice cake glazed with a caramel sauce. Yummmmmm!

Then after that, I headed over to my local bookstore of choice and did a bunch of Christmas shopping--I'm almost through, and that's such a great feeling!

This week, I'm going to really concentrate on how much I have to be thankful for.
