Sweet Potatoes and Painting and Organ Recitals, Oh My!

Nov 18, 2007 20:33

I made a big dish of sweet potatoes, mixed with nutmeg, cinnamon, milk, and butter, with miniature marshmallows on top, for the Thanksgiving dinner at my old church today; I also made a Kentucky chess cake for the bake sale.

Then after lunch, a bunch of us painted the nativity stable for our living nativity--we did the sides a brown on the top half, and grey, with stones detailed in, on the bottom.

After all of that, I hustled to get gas, throw out the trash, change clothes and head to an organ recital my advisor was playing in at a midtown church. Home again, eating a TV dinner because it's easy; talked to my godkids' mom and got Thanksgiving dinner plans squared away; talked to another friend who sang in my service yesterday (long conversation, and very pleasant indeed--he's a special guy); wrote a devotional for the Advent devotional book at my old church, and now here I am again.

Hope all of you had a great day!
