Oh, my God, it's a holiday weekend and just in time for my sanity (or maybe not--talk among yourselves).
I'm loving the course I'm taking this semester--it's called Textuality, which explores the development, cultural, historical and literary significance of selected texts. This semester's course focuses on fantasy, and we started with a 2-class discussion of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, accompanied by some movie clips.
Tonight's an English horn concert at church, preceded by dinner with a friend. Saturday means getting out the fall decor, a haircut (maybe), and Sunday is a brunch for a church member who's moving to Colorado (at the brunch, she's giving an "instructional" symposium on beer--she's a chemist for Coors) and possibly a play that afternoon.
The weather's turned cool here--and it's delightful!
