who's there?

I've tried so many times to begin posting here at least semi-regularly anew, and now I'm thinking that every time I'm tempted to make a text post on tumblr (or else just want to write something down in English - or Swedish) I shall post it here. Or, at least, copy it from there :) why the hell not it's not like anybody is reading me on here

Russian music is such a big part of me and what I listen to (and music is one of the biggest parts of who I am), so it's so strange that many people have never heard it, will never listen to it. And even worse - when foreign people ask me what I listen to (which is the worst question ever, I listen to so many things; but worse is the question about the bands because I have only a couple favourite foreign bands/artists as I mostly listen to foreign music by separate songs), it's easy enough to say 'rock' and even 'Russian rock, you probably don't know it but it's really good' and 'classical' and 'musicals' etc, but then there are, uh, 'minstrels' - which is what we call a certain genre of music which originated in the roleplaying movement - and some artists have become indeed quite popular, but most of them are quite... infamous, bards and singers-songwriters. And, indeed, the songs are quite often related to some historical events... or based on a certain canon, among which Tolkien is certainly the most famous.
And, like, sometimes I think that there are, for once, hundreds of thousands Tolkien enthusiasts who've never heard those songs, and I just ????? it's so strange to me

ramble, yay post, being russian, musically verbal
