As you may be able to tell from the pic, I'm a fan of Dogma. (The movie...not the technical crap that turns many away from formalized religion) Interestingly enough tho, I have gravitated toward agreeing with a lot of things the movie throws out there - 'an idea is more important than a belief' 'fuck all the bad things that are carried out in the name of the Lord' too many things. On the subject of 'faith' I believe it's more important to be spiritual, and allow that to calm you. One of my favorite prayers (by Mother Theresa I believe) has very little of a specifically Christian tie:

May today there be peace within. May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.... May you be content knowing you are a child of God.... Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you.

I think that once you tear away all the ego, it all boils down to finding something that works for you. Whether or not that will gain you transcendence or eternal life, or whatever you're looking for is something different...but that's another topic. And while I may be even vocal or literary at times about moments of faith, it does bug me that people make strong, definitive claims about themselves that are based on practicing that claim a handfull of times each year. Yes. I realize I'm thus a self-hating hypocrite for saying that...and I'm still coming to terms with it. Anyway, the Season has passed...and now we're no longer on break...fuck.

Anyway. befile my palace. It misses your comments. What do you think about a short term investment in BestBuy, or ToysRUs or the like from November 20th to December 26th? I've always wanted to cash in on our fucked up society.
