House of Cards

I finally got a Capital One Visa. This is a big deal because they don't charge international transaction fees. Amex Worldpoints wasn't terrible about it either, but as you can guess a card called "American Express" is not widely accepted in places like France or Germany. Visa, like a real "visa",  is almost essential for travel.

Sadly this little piece of plastic only has a $1,000 credit limit which equates to a pretty feeble 682 Euros. I found that to be sort of a slap in the face... especially since Capital One will not take any requests to raise a credit limit. (Russell asked and was not so politely told no.) But it's better than nothing and I get 1% cashback. I chose the card design with an American flag on it.

This now makes three open credit cards. I imagine them much like the Golden Girls, with the part of Sophia being played by my Kroger Plus card.
