It just occurred to me...

I only realized this weekend showing Ducky around the city how much I love it here. Now, I'm not saying I'll love it forever or stay for years, but I love it right now and that's more than enough. I've adjusted to the things that bothered me at first and now I love that people drive slowly and carefully, I love that everything is just a little more casual and easy-going, I love the Northwest attitude. I'm even ok with the weather right now. I am still frustrated by inclement weather ruining my day, but into every life a little rain (no pun intended). I like the hip bars and the lame bars, I like that no one dresses up for anything (ever), I like that I get so excited I can hardly stand it when I see the mountains, I love how beautiful it is. I always mocked the West Coast and its crazies, preferring the staid and reliable Midwesterners, and don't get me wrong, I still do, but I'm beginning to appreciate the crazies. At least the Washington version.

This weekend we did Bodies at 800 Pike, the Space Needle (which is actually really ugly), the Market, Pioneer Square, International District (I have about four restaurants picked out that I want to go back and try), Bellingham (up North), and the Boeing production plant in Everett. And just to confirm how dorky I am, I was so excited at Boeing. Biggest building by volume in the world! I saw planes being built!

Also, to add to my love affair with Seattle, I'm going to see George Clinton in March. If I didn't have to go to school, my life would be perfect.
