So, it looks like I got the most expensive, crappiest ticket possible. It was quite an ordeal. I went to the student ticket agency, they didn't have any fares to Chicago, Detroit, or Traverse City (how is this possible?). Then I went to another agency. The woman searched for like 45 minutes. Finally she found a ticket for 930 dollars. For 50 dollars cheaper I could have gone Moscow-Prague-New York-Detroit-Traverse City. For 100 dollars cheaper I could have spent the night in Prague (18 hours). For 200 dollars cheaper I could have gotten a flight to just Detroit. None of this seemed particularly worthwhile. So I got the 930 one, going Moscow-New York-Detroit-Traverse City. But then I realized that I'm going to have to claim my bags in New York for customs, then again in Detroit and switch airlines. For the one in Detroit I have an hour and a half, and that's if the flight from New York is ontime. So, basically I doubt that I'm going to make that one and since it's two different airlines neither is responsible for my ticket so if I miss a flight I'm just screwed. Plus it's the last flight to TC of the night, so if I miss it I'm not coming home until the next day. So...awesome. So now I have a ticket I seriously can't afford and am terrified that I'm not going to make the connection. But I'm coming home, which sometimes seems like a pretty great thing.
