Update to last post: Curtains?
Now Dad's liver and kidney function compromised. Mom at hospital now to advise. Over the phone, was saying something like "he might have trouble taking catheterization."
Somehow I get the sense that their Philadelphia trip may be off the board anyway.

The very people that effectively handed the country to the current administration threaten to pull their own Ralph Nader out of spite to Giuliani. And to think that some wide-left types were likely considering a extra-party challenge to voice their displeasure to Hillary. A four-way race? This could be fun.
EDIT 15:20 (after the first three comments)... Report from one of the doctors saying that anything they do is liable to damage something else. Not much they can do in that case but ease the pain. Not surprisingly, Mom's taking this rather hard. Very real chance he won't make it.
