And that she needs some sport to watch after hockey (which ends in a couple weeks), so finding out that they end and start around the same time is a good thing for the MLS country. It might have been. I just know the one team beat the other and I was mostly bored. I mean, it was pretty but I had no history to the clubs. That's one reason I looked at the MLs, since it ends in October, when hockey starts again.

Donovan was on Team USA for such or another. I saw them on TV or a feed or something. I just recognize the name. What did he say? I think the problem is that anything NOT big three (baseball, football, basketball) has a hard time breaking into the market, really. Hockey isn't as big a deal as you'd think since most of the US doesn't follow it. It's pretty insular in fandom participants (off line and on), from what I've gathered. NHL loses a lot of money every year - CBA is coming up and I'm cringing.

American football down here is a religion, then baseball, then basketball in that order. Hockey seems to be more prominent in the northeast and centrally connected to said reason. I mean, we have teams everywhere, but it's more prominent with longer rivalries. Though, the LA Kings apparently have quite a list of fans since they've been around for 40something years without winning a title, much less the cup. Which really is similar to football. A lot of people know about it but there hasn't been a big push by communities to really participate. We have a minor league team here, the Silverbacks, who play like 6 other teams and that's it. But if you look at places like Texas through southern Cali, which has a high Hispanic community, soccer is really popular and seems to be gaining in the northeast, too. Just from what I've read on regions.
