Starting from scratch...

Another dolly woe, so feel free to skip this.

I've been struggling on Robyn for the last week. I was hoping to take care of her issues in time for the little meeting we're having on saturday, so that I could pass her on to Ro for her reroot. But I'm not happy with the outcome and I'm thinking to start the project from scratch with another doll.
I still have a Primadolly Ginger I don't care much for that could be perfect. I can always keep the prototype Robyn as an experiment dolly, or just finish her up.
So many thing went wrong with this project, bummer it started all so well.
Once I got to solve the stickiness on her legs last saturday, the color on her pelvis kept flaking out, especially at the joint with her legs. I kept painting, flaking, removing, repeat. Until at some point I was ok with it, and proceeded to put everything away and cleaning. It flaked again, so I poured some more color in the airbrush and it just wasn't the same color anymore O_o... It had a nice shiny finish, but from that point on it was just all matte and... sand-y, I don't know how else to explain it.
I kept going back and forth on that pelvis until this morning. I've kept the airbrush out so as to work on her every time I could. So, I think she's done but I'm not happy with it.
Not counting the damages her legs have from (I think) the color remover. Too bad, 'cause I managed to paint her palms and under feet (?) a lighter brown, something I wanted to do for her.
I'm just sorry I keep on giving false hopes to Eerika. :(

Anyway, I'm also thinking of working again on Coffee. The color on her pelvis is flaking too. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong here. I though it was a matter of thinning the color a little more, but apparently that's not the case.
I've bought some primer from HLJ along with some spray-can colors I want to try, 'cause it's always a mess trying to match *homemade* colors, and have some factory made one should help.
As for Coffee, I hope I can match her skin tone. I'm also thinking of adding those needed two/three more line of hair to the top of her head, and maybe give her some makeup.

I think I gave up the idea of turning a Blythe into Non from "Majokko Megu-chan", until I figure out how to make the color permanent on the pelvis. That seems to be the major problem. And since changing clothes involves a lot of friction in that area I need to work it out. Plus, I think a Momoko would suit the character better, though I should have her face-up repainted and that's not something I can manage. U_u
I'm such a screwup! :D

And of course I need to work on Elphie, too. U_u
I bought some power tools, so perhaps I'll be eventually able to give Elphie a custom jointed *littlest petshop* flying monkey. That's another project I'm keeping on postponing.
We'll see.
