I went through the Humane Society to get Napoleon fixed. It was only $10 for the surgery and $12 for a rabies vaccination. Woo Hoo!
Anyways...
I dropped him off at Pineywoods Veterinary Clinic this morning at 7:30 am. Let me just tell you... First off, Napoleon is NOT a shaky Chihuahua at all. However, he started shaking as soon as I walked in the door with him in my arms. Lovely. Not to mention the fact that he turned in my arms, put a paw on either side of my neck and laid his head in the space between my jaw and collar bone. It KILLED me to see him so sad. He's so smart though. He knew something was up. When the receptionist came to get him, he tried to push out of her arms and come back to me. The way he was doing his front paws made him look like a small child reaching for their mommy. I started tearing up. I tried to dry it up and I gave him some love and gave her a shirt I slept in last night to put in the cage with him so he would have something that smelled like me. I filled out some paper work and left. As SOON as I hit my car I started bawling like a baby. I cried the entire way home. It killed me to leave my precious baby with them. Ugh! They called me around 10:30 to say that his surgery went well (she said text book, in fact),that he was doing well and that I can pick him up between 5 and 5:30. You better believe my ass is going to be there @ 4:45 just waiting. :(
I miss him... lol
It's funny. I've only had him for what.... 2/3 weeks now and I'm TOTALLY in love with him. He's the perfect dog. SO well behaved and a lap baby/snuggler. Everyone adores him and I couldn't be happier.
Hurry up 5 o'clock.... i want my baby back!
If this is how I am with my dog... I'm going to be a total wreck when my children have to have a simple shot... much less anything else.
