Three more days until my new job starts. I'll be busy those days, too. Tomorrow I need to stop by the doctor and get my TB test run, then print everything out and scan in all my paperwork and ID cards and such to take with me to the job Thursday morning. I also have some CE classes to watch for my license, and a critique group at 5:30. Tuesday I have an appointment with my therapist, more CE classes, and another critique group (a new once a month meeting just for sci-fi writers). Then Wednesday I have a massage and more CE classes.

I have no idea what my schedule is going to look like with this job. If we're working from the local health departments, it might be 9-5 M-F with weekends off. Or it could be any combination of hours if we're working out of a tent or another building (like a Kmart or Ingles). I could be doing 8 hour days, 10 hour days, or back to 12 hours even. I'll have to wait until Thursday to find out.

Depending on what the schedule is, I may or may not be able to drive the nephew to his medical procedure later this month. It's at 9am and his surgery is the next day. His mom is driving him to the surgery but I said I'd do the other procedure if I was off ... might have to rethink that one if I'm working M-F hours ...

I can't imagine that this is going to be a stressful position though. We'll just be giving shots (MAYBE doing COVID testing as well ... that was one possibility) and they have to have an appointment for those so it won't be rush, rush, rush like at a store. The only drawback will be whatever paperwork we'll be doing, which I can imagine might get cumbersome if they don't have a good system already in place for it. Like at the pharmacy, where we had to stay late every night to re-scan all the flu shot paperwork that had to be attached to the flu shot "prescription" already in the computer ...

I am going to be good and take my lunch and snacks every day instead of going out to eat all the time. I might go out on the training days if everybody else does, but only to be sociable. I ordered a new lunch bag with silicone "ziplock" baggies to take all my food in, so I'll be set. Everything is supposed to arrive tomorrow sometime. It's going to be a hassle at first, packing everything up, but I can do it the night before and just shove everything into the lunch bag on my way out the door. One thing I'll need to do is see what the Starbucks line is like nowadays at 7:30 or 8am ... that could be a deal breaker I'd hate to leave the house at 7 to get across town by 8:45 ...

Well, I have done all of my critiques for all 3 groups reading this week, so I'm set for this week. I might have to drop one or more critique groups depending on my schedule. Have to leave myself time to write, after all. And speaking of writing, I do need to finish that queer-friendly story for "It Can Only Get Better." Back to work ...

velyr - wtf?, in the morning ... i'm making waffles, reality interferes with my virtual life, still haven't found what i'm looking for, all that is gold does not glitter, like and equal are not the same thing, but wait ... there's more!, crivens!
