Omigod, I'm Back!

If I never have another two months like I've just lived through, it'll be too soon for me!

First, after two months of tests, antibiotics, etc, the doctor finally found out that my gallbladder was bad. Why an organ on the right side of your abdomen can cause pain on the left is beyond me, but the nurse at the hospital told me she's seen lots of people with the same symptoms, so I guess I'm not as weird as I figured. Anyhow, I had surgery at the end of January and then two weeks to get back on my feet.

Only in the meanwhile, my roomie, who's been living with me around five years I guess, started drinking a lot more than he used to. It was OK when he'd just have a glass in his own bedroom and I never saw him, but he started passing out in the living room and one night he left a pan on the stove and nearly caught the kitchen on fire. So I had to tell him to find another place to live, then I had to go through all the crap that generally goes along with two friends parting company and moving away from each other. I'm trying to get him to go to AA or something, but I've seen too many relatives go the alcohol/drug route to be really optimistic about it

I have not written jack-shit for two months, as I have been going back and forth to the doctor's for testing, and taking more and more pain killers in between until they found what was really wrong and got rid of it. Now I'm ready to start back to work tomorrow, and will get back to my writing too.

On the up-side, I have tickets to see U2's Vertigo tour, which is coming to Croke Park in Dublin in June. I'm sure I can find some long-lost Irish relatives by then who will let me crash at their place! Yes, I am aware that I get some odd ideas and that going to Ireland to see a band is a little ... out there. I haven't gone on a really cool vacation since I went to Kaua'i though, and I think I deserve some quality time after this past two months!

Has anyone seen the new "Constantine" movie? My best friend (and sometimes - oh, you know him) J and I went last night and almost fell out of our seats laughing. I admit I've not seen the original comics, but I'm certain they are much more thought-provoking and less laughable than Keanu Reeves smiting demons with the Holy Brass Knuckles of Righteousness! We're going to drag some of our other pals and see it again next week!

reality interferes with my virtual life, can you watch too many movies?, the point of an essay is 2 change things
