The Saga of the Vacation Continues as Well
We're mostly saying HERE, only they didn't have the entire 10 days free, so we're spending the first two days at one of the less expensive Marriott properties near Union Square. The Cosmo is an old hotel re-furbished as an extended stay rental. The rooms have a dorm-room look about them, and the communal kitchen is in the basement, but really, how much time are we going to be spending there, anyhow? Long enough to sleep and prepare something to carry with us for lunch every day.
Another humorous note -- when I printed out the e-tickets (always do that a few weeks ahead of time for some reason), I found that the cut-rate ticket prices were because they were landing us in San Jose airport, 30 miles from San Francisco! Fortunately, renting a car for the day isn't exorbitant. We'll just get in a little bit more sightseeing than we planned on Day 1. We're going to rent a car one day and just drive up and down the Pacific Coast Highway.
I still have not managed to totally convince pipmudturtle into that tattoo yet ... must do much more talking so he can reserve a spot with the artist!
