Purchasing a laptop, I've discovered, takes a terrible toll on one's sanity. One finds oneself awake at 4 A.M., trying to get the ridiculously buggy student discount Lenovo site to place one's freaking order already after days of scouring tech geek forums for info on battery life and configuration details. One then succumbs to muttering increasingly deranged things such as "I'll grind your bones to make my bread, Lenovo!" in intense frustration.
After FINALLY getting a call from an actual human, I managed to place my order at long last today. If my new 15.4" screen ThinkPad T61 with Windows XP Pro, a 160 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, and a 9-cell battery doesn't manage to be damn near indestructible and to give me a very solid 4 hours+ of battery life at a stretch, you can fully expect me to go ballistic.
