Yesterday was a total fog.
Woke up, got a quick coffee and sat on the bridge overlooking the river Corrib and waited for the parade to come by.
There were tons of people out and it was so beautiful. There were about 5 sets of bagpipe bands, including the New Hampshire state police, Ocean county NJ, and the Irish prison system band. There were also all the high school bands and stuff. Thankfully lacking compared to the states were the lame ass politicials who walk around with their signs and slap each other on the back. It was also not very commercialized....just a bunch of people having a good time.
My favorite of the whole bunch were the kids from the junior hurling leage marching. Hurling is like a mix betweel lacrosse and baseball. there were about 200 kids that were 5-7 and every single one of them were carrying a big wooden hurling stick. It was like an army of 5 year olds with blunt objects....if France was around they would have surrendered to these kids.
The drinking commenced right after the parade. I spent from 1pm till midnight getting totally pissed, I think I drank a total of 15 pints by the end of the night and collapsed into my bed.
