Sometimes you can get addicted to a perfectly good, healthy thing. Moderation in all things, I suppose.
But how much time do you really spend writing? Would it be possible to adjust your schedule so that you go to dinner or lunch twice a week (in addition to whatever your current social calendar is like) with friends?
Studies have shown that friendships change and evolve, and female friendships generally have a half-life of about a decade. Maybe you need to find new people with more in common?
I realize it's much harder to meet people after college, which makes me uneasy. I don't have much in the way of Real Life experience, though, so take my opinions and suggestions with a pinch of salt.
I can only base my opinion on your words and I think you're a reasonable, intelligent, creative person, so maybe there is indeed something about your mannerisms in real life that puts off people.
Talk to your friend --maybe she can give you some insight.
And maybe this is just a low point in your mood because of daily wear and tear on your emotional stores.
You are so right. Moderation is the key. I need to cut back a bit. That's all. Maybe restrict myself to after the kids go to bed or something... but DAMN it's gonna be hard.

Feel better.
