it's been years since i made resolutions,
& actually keeping to them.
it's been awhile since i expressed my thoughts openly,
& while not looking over my shoulder.

as i continue to write my thoughts, anger & joy,
my words will add salt to wound,
& some bridges might be burnt.
when that happens,
i shall swim & not look back.
