Well, I received my SWITCH body last Wednesday, and it's a really close match to the Volks head, but it arrived with 2 broken fingers. The custom declarations form mentions no insurance amount (I thought EMS did?), so I can't file a claim, which means I'll have to pay for the hands. I'm a bit bummed about that, as I shouldn't have to pay for something I didn't break. Don't some companies send you a free replacement?
Anyways, I wanted to also talk about the Volks SDGOU body. I'm sorry, but what was Volks thinking? It took everything that was nice about the SD17 body, and sculpted some weird things. One, why is the waist/hip area substantially thinner than the chest? There's some weird lines on the arms, which I keep looking at. The waist joint has funky dips. Just what. It's like there were attempts at idealism and realism trying to mesh together. I don't care that most of that would be covered. This body just lacks the softness of Volks. The last Volks doll I can see myself getting would be the Four Sisters head. She's terribly cute. I had no idea how different this body looks, until I saw photos a moment ago. SD17 thank you.
In other news, AWA bjd panel still sucks. It's not even a panel, but basically a meetup. I want there be to group interaction, prizes, something other than "let me hang out with my friends and no one else." BORING. Most of the people don't even get up too look at peoples's dolls. And the tables are not setup where it's easy to navigate between them. I'm not saying no one is friendly, but this panel only happens once a year, and surely there could be something more to look forward to?
