Here's a First... I think

I haven't done an episode discussion about "Once Upon A Time" before (at least not that I remember), but now I have to write down my feelings after this absolutely fantastic season finale. Beware of spoilers if you haven't seen it already.

Wow!
It was only last week that I told my sister I'm not very invested in OUAT anymore. I was seriously considering not watching it any longer. I didn't like the whole storyline with the Wicked Witch and apart from Regina and Robin's love story nothing had me hooked any longer.

And now this!
Seriously, it was one of the best episodes they ever did. I loved it (apart from one or two tiny things).
Bringing Emma into the past, into the Enchanted Forest, having her interact with her parents... I loved it. The whole time-travel thing with trying not to change the future or making things right so that the future would still be what she knew it to be... it was brilliantly done. It was funny and clever and they thought of everything.

And the best thing about the past was Emma meeting the real Rumplestiltskin. I loved their interaction, I loved how she kept wanting to call him Mr. Gold, I loved how he reacted to someone from the future showing up, I loved how he acted towards Belle with Emma and Hook around... and most of all I loved how in the end he did the right thing and took the potion and let Emma go. I laughed out loud when he found himself in the vault with no memory of how he got there... "What am I doing here???" and poof! gone he was. Best scene ever :-)

Hook being jealous and punching himself was great, too. I've never been a Hook/Emma shipper, and I'm still not so sure about them, but I loved their interaction in this episode. They are a great team.

But of course there were things in this episode that I didn't love so much. For example: I knew as soon as Emma and Hook decided to take that woman with them to the future, that she would be trouble. I realized that they hadn't given us her name and that she would turn out to be someone important. And of course... she goes and destroys the ship I've come to support. Regina/Robin. Damn, I hate that! Why did it have to be Marian?

The other thing I didn't like so much was RumBelle's wedding scene. I was surprised to see them get married this fast. And with no one there but Belle's dad and Archie. Why didn't they invite anyone? They have friends now. I'm sure the others would have liked to be there for their wedding. And to have a party afterwards.
Oh, and don't let me get started on what Belle was wearing for her wedding. What was that supposed to be? A costume from the 1920's??? She looked awful! That hat! She looked like her own grandmother!
I know that Rumple is old (compared to her) but he doesn't look that old, does he? People might have a problem with their age difference (I don't though) but that doesn't mean Belle has to look like she's in her 80's, right?
That was awful.
I liked their vows though. But I can't help but shake my head at how Rumple lied to Belle about the dagger and I know that it's gonna come biting him in the ass sooner rather than later. I fear for them, my beloved couple.

I knew that Snow and Charimg would name their boy Neal. I just knew it. It doesn't matter to me one way or another but I loved Rumple's face when they announced the name.

About the ending, this new threat that came back from the past with Emma and Hook... I have no idea what to think of it so far. I suppose it's the Ice Queen (or whatever she's called) but I'm not familliar with that story. Guess I'll have to watch this new movie "Frozen", maybe I'll know more afterwards.

And that's a wrap. Now it's hiatus time.
