La la la, fic post.
Saiyuki drabbles:
Title: Consume
Pairing: Gonou/Kanan
Rating: PG-13
A/N: Written for the
of_the_moon100 challenge "consume." (Yes, I am aware that I have the most unoriginal titles ever.)
After a lifetime of being empty, Gonou loved Kanan like a starving man loves a feast. She filled the gaping emptiness in his heart, made him feel like a whole person. And at night it was his turn to fill her, reveling in the way her breath hitched and her body twisted.
He worried sometimes that he wanted her too much, that he would consume her and her gentle warmth with his hunger.
When Kanan died, Gonou realized that it was he who had been consumed. Kanan had taken all of him into herself, and now there was nothing left.
Title: Side Story
Characters: Chin Yisou, Hakkai
Rating: PG
A/N: Written for the
100_roadtrips prompt "Exit, Stage Right"
Chin Yisou had set a truly magnificent stage. He had props, setting, actors, and a perfect leading man.
The puppets danced to his tune, and Gonou danced most beautifully of all. But then the actors began to miss their cues and forget their lines. He had overestimated the strength of his strings, or perhaps his own ability as puppet master.
When Gonou ripped through him, Chin Yisou had the infuriating suspicion that he had never been more than a subplot. It was funny, in a frustrating way, he could admit.
But Gonou didn't need to look so smug about it.

Title: Not Gonna Get Us
Fandom: Loveless
Pairing: Kouya/Yamato
Rating: PG-13
Kouya stared back at the remains of the mangled cell phone. She felt that a part of herself had just died, and in a way it was true. Zero was dead. Now she had to learn how to be plain ordinary Kouya. "Come on," Yamato told her softly. And Kouya followed, because to follow Yamato was to be alive.
They went back to Yamato's apartment only to pick up some clothes, what money they could find, and their cash cards, which they would have to empty soon. Neither of them knew if Nagisa-sensei would look for them, but they didn't want to leave a trail for her to follow. They left quickly. They didn't belong there anymore.
They found a cheap hotel, which Yamato made even cheaper by flirting with the clerk. Kouya was not at all jealous, she wasn't flustered by Yamato teasing her about it in the hallway, and she wasn't blushing, dammit, no matter what Yamato said. However, she would admit to a feeling of peace when they got to their room and Kouya closed the door behind her. Yamato sat on the bed, lost in thought. "We won't be able to stay in school," she said finally. "We can't afford it."
Kouya nodded. Nagisa-sensei had been paying all their bills. "We'll get jobs." She sat down next to Yamato. "It will be all right," she assured, pulling her lover close. "We'll make it work."
Yamato kissed her gently. "We're still a team," she whispered. "The Yamato and Kouya team." She pulled down Kouya's skirt. "And together we're unbeatable."
Kouya reached under Yamato's shirt and unhooked her bra. "As long as we're together," she agreed.
"Never let go of me?"
"Never ever."
Title: Soaring
Fandom: Bleach
Pairing: Orihime/Rukia
Rating: G
A/N: Double drabble.
Orihime has always dreamt of flying. She would wave to the birds, do loop-d-loops, and become the first one girl shooting star! Whoosh! She would fly away from anything bad and would know each of the stars by name. (Hikaru, and Sakura, and Sally, and...)
Her brother finds her on the roof once and has to explain to her that little girls can't fly. Not by flapping their arms anyway. Orihime isn't deterred. The answer is a robot suit! Mecha Orihime, racing in to save the day!
Then Orihime meets people who actually can fly. The shinigami can zoom around just like Orihime has always longed to. Kurosaki-kun learns to do it too, and he looks so impressive, like a hero out of a shounen manga!
Orihime doesn't want to feel sad. She wants to be happy for her friends. She tries not to feel that everyone has risen above her, leaving her stranded on the ground.
But, when Kuchiki-san kisses her for the first time, Orihime thinks she might be getting a taste of flying. And she wants more. She wants the two of them to soar together.
From the look in her eyes, Kuchiki-san wants the same thing.
