Musical Inspiration

I took an introduction to music this semester. I've always wanted to learn more about music, but never took the time. It's online, so it's not the most immersive way to learn a visceral art form. But! I gotta say, it's murder on the muse.

She is, in fact, at this very moment, demanding I stop typing and take notes. "Notes, you cow of a woman! Notes, before you forget!" (My muse is...demanding. I'm actually impressed that she got up off her chaise, dumped her grapes on the floor, and is affecting the imagination's version of getting in my face. My muse, you see, is also prone to apathy.)

Of course, this is directly related to the study day I've taken today. The husband has removed himself along with the baby to run errands and visit the park so I can have the place to myself. I have far too much homework to be getting on with, and we're taking ten days to go on vacation in the middle of it. So of course, this day all to myself should, as my muse is concerned, be spent paying attention to her.

All of this Romantic Era music is making me desperate to revisit Gryphon's Overture. To plot and plan and create and grow. You know, because I shelved the series long ago, once I realized my writing had yet to find its spark. And because that is the pertinent thing to do. :P

So away I go to study...while also taking notes on musical styles, forms, and goals with which to build the Twilight Cycle.
