Bananas

Summary: Martha grinned at Jack and then looked at Aurelia, who was gurgling happilyy, with what could be described as a very mucky face.
Spoilers: None, I don’t think. It’s set after Doomsday, but it doesn’t refer to it in anyway.
Bananas
‘Doctor, you promised you’d be ready!’ Rose said angrily. ‘I go away for ten minutes and you don’t even do one thing that’s useful!’
Martha grinned at Jack and then looked at Aurelia, who was gurgling happily, with what could only be described as a very mucky face.
‘She liked the banana!’ The Doctor cried in defence, waving the said item in front of Rose’s face. ‘Bananas are great for you Rose, full of -’
‘Potassium and great for the heart?’ Rose snarled.
The Doctors face fell.
‘Ah - well, yes. That exactly, couldn’t have said it better myself.’
‘Come on beautiful’ Martha said to the ten month year old baby, who kicked her legs happily as she was picked up. ‘Let’s go and get you cleaned up.’
‘Thanks Martha.’ Rose smiled gratefully before turning to the Doctor. ‘See at least somebody is useful…’
‘Rose,’ he murmured, approaching her slowly.
‘Oh no you don’t!’ She said, recognising the look in his eye and the fact that there was nobody else in the room. ‘No way mghumph -’
She was cut off as the Doctor pushed her against the wall, lips covering hers in a matter of seconds.
Twenty five minutes later, Rose vowed never to blame a banana again.
After all, bananas were great for a party.
