done

I can officially say that I am done with work for the summer. I can't believe that today is my last day. I have felt very lost all day, no PCR, no cycle sequencing, no sequences to organize...what to do? Well, I'll tell you. I organized my computer accounts, and printed out summaries of all that I have done this morning. Then I went out to my last Friday Pagoda lunch with coworkers, went to the store to buy some avocadoes, and took an early afternoon, going home at 2. I ate a real lunch, watched Everwood on British television (here it's called "Our New Life in Everwood") and sorted through my backpack, yet again, to try and smush my life for the next three weeks into an even smaller package. When I had finished with that, I cooked up some "chips" while making guacamole for the picnic I'm having with lab people tonight. It's currently 5:30 on a Friday evening here in London, and sadly I don't feel like going out to the pub, I feel like staying and doing work. Or alternatively, going to bed just so that I can wake up in the morning to go meet my amazing girlfriend at the airport. Leaving people you are certain it will be fairly unlikely to ever see again is such a strange thing.

But in happier news, it's time for vacation to officially begin! I will go and have fun in order to officially begin my whirlwind European tour!

Cheers,
Jaci
