- Still somewhat plagued by the cold, but have a long work week ahead of me. Will be up and out from 6:30 in the morning until 9:00 at night for the next few days. It really will be a long week.
- About 90 pages into the 750+ pages of The Passage by Justin Cronin now. Is there anyone who's read it before and can comment on whether it's worth finishing? So far it's been a fairly straightforward read. Decent enough plots to keep interested, and the writing hasn't been glaringly bad (which, I suppose, is saying a lot for this genre) - but not particularly captivating, either. So, it's basically serviceable, and while I have no qualms with lengthy books, I don't want to devote much more time on 700 pages of serviceable.
- Toying with another idea for a Haven fic. Or two. With this recently re-emerged interest in fic-writing, I can't seem to figure out what exactly gets me going. How does one keep him/herself motivated? Neither of two Sherlock WIPs is tickling my fancy, even though I already have the plots and most of the scenes actually outlined and they both contain quite solid ideas that I would love to see panned out and finished eventually. Have about 8000 words on GK/TB that's been around for over a year, but it's hard to muster up any real desire to finish it (I doubt GK fandom needs more fics) - but then again, I did pour hours and hours over each scene and it'd be painful to abandon it. I wouldn't mind working up toward a small BB fic (a la Walt and Jesse on the run), but that show stresses me out and I can't quite get there with BB for some reason, so I'd rather leave the writing to the three other people in this fandom.
Since I already wrote a quickie for Haven, thought I got it out of the system, except another idea presented itself during the marathon this weekend. Of course it has to be an idea for an epic, which I don't want to get invested in, and I don't think an epic angst is what this happy little Nathan/Audrey contingent of the fandom needs, so. Hmm.
