I've come to the conclusion that
I think I could fall in love with you
In a different way than what most people
Refer to as "love"
I think sometimes there are friends
Who you're in love with
I think it's a much deeper love though
Deeper than friendship, family, intimacy
Deeper than all of those things.
I think it's more of an understanding
Of each other.

I must admit
The idea fascinates me
Maybe that's what they refer to as
Best friends.
It may eventually come true
For you and me.

I had someone like that once
A long time ago
And I ended up being more than just his friend
Now that I look back
I see it was a horrible mistake
But I'm glad I experienced it
Because now I know
I hope I won't make that mistake again
With you.
