I need help making a protein drink drink-able

I recently purchased Nature's Way Alive! Pea Protein ultra-shake thing for a little added boost a few times a week. I don't get home until after 9 pm, so my eating's been bad and I want to make sure I'm getting enough protein, and I like that they have all the other good stuff in the drink mixes. I also like that it's not soy-based. I got the vanilla flavor, but I took a big swig this morning and realized that it tastes pretty much like what I would imagine dirt to taste like. I couldn't get more than a couple swigs taken. Is there a way to improve the flavor at all? I made it with almond milk, but I could also try the so delicious coconut milk if that may help. I'm willing to try adding anything you can suggest, cause I would rather not waste the entire container.
