I was planning on visiting Acorn Community this coming fall in the hopes of eventually becoming a member. It's a secular, egalitarian, income-sharing community in Virginia.
Here's a link.
I'll get right to the point: their recent update said that they had just acquired some chickens "for eggs and some meat". I don't know how I feel about that. Well, I do. I don't like it. The "some meat" killed me inside especially. I don't know if I could even live where chickens are being slaughtered for their meat.
So I need some advice. Should I either:
a) Not go,
b) Go and try not to think about it.
or c) Find a secular, egalitarian, income-sharing, vegan community.
(If anyone can help me find c I would be very appreciative.)
Thanks!
